All of our candles are poured into containers. When you first light your candle it is important to leave it burning until the whole top surface of the candle has become liquid (approx 4 hours). This will ensure a longer burn time and will use all of the wax in the container. Allowing candles to liquify to the edge before extinguishing will prevent tunnelling. Please do not burn container candles until they are dry. Soy wax is biodegradable & water soluble. Once the candle is finished the container can be washed out with warm soapy water and re-used.
Wicks should be trimmed to 0.5cm before lighting.
If black “carbon balls” build up on a wick, extinguish the flame and trim the wick back to 0.5cm for even burning.
Always remove debris, such as wick clippings from candles and containers. Often, you will see mottling or what some call “star bursts” on the top of the candle. This is a natural characteristic of a pure soy candle and should not be considered a flaw - it is in no way detrimental to the form or function of the finished candle. A slightly rough top is completely normal with all pure soy candles, not only when they are first produced, but also after they cool from burning.
WARNING: To Prevent Fire · Keep burning candles within sight.
· Keep out of reach of children and pets.
· Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
· Lit candles should not be moved. Extinguish and let the wax harden before moving to a new location.
· Do not blow out or use water to extinguish candle flames. Always use a snuffer to prevent wax from spraying and keep wicks centred.
